Aldo van den Nieuwelaar

Designer

Dutch industrial and sculptor Aldo van den Nieuwelaar (1944) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Breda. Aldo van den Nieuwelaar often experiments with geometric shapes. His inspiration comes from Rietveld and De Stijl, Bauhaus in the 1920s and minimalist art from the 1960s. His most famous design, the A'dammer cabinet, is a typical example of the simplicity of his design.
