Bernard-Albin Gras (1886-1943) was born in Saint-Raphaël in France. He was an engineer and inventor. Bernard-Albin Gras took out several patents, including one on La Lampe Gras. A range of lamps with a functional design and, for the period, an extremely modern idiom. His passion was to improve working conditions in the small machine shops, research laboratories and design offices of the 1920s. Gras' flexible, mobile lighting solution met the requirements of the diverse group of users. Today, his lamps have become classics and have won a place in both modern and classic settings.
