Eberhart Furniture is a newly established furniture company run by cousins Esben Christoffersen and Rune Vigil, who, in their childhood, were given a thorough grounding in their craft by their grandfather. Not only did they inherit his lathe, old planes and chisels, but his knack of expressing his craftsmanship skills in wood, steel and concrete, too. The seeds of Eberhart were sown in the small village of Tulstrup near Ry in Jutland, where the cousins' grandfather passed on his attributes as a highly regarded architect and carpenter. Eberhart is a tale of good craftsmanship, of credibility, of roots and of family ties. It is a romantic story of a love of both design and craftsmanship. Eberhart aims to reflect these keywords in their designs, and pass on a sense of security and belonging in a fragmented society, which consumers can thus identify with. By using local producers, Eberhart wishes to focus on regaining a sense of self and pride in the fact that we can continue to compete on both price and quality when it comes to furniture making in Denmark.
