Gaetano Pesce was born in La Spezia in 1939. He studied architecture at the University of Venice. In 1959, in partnership with Milena Vettore, he founded Gruppo N concerned with programmed art.
Since 1962, Pesce worked with design and experimented with new materials and forms. In 1971, he cooperated with BracciodiFerro at Cassina and produced experimental objects such as Moloch (1971). Innovation and irony are also expressed in Pesca's projects for Cassina, including Tramonto a New York sofa (1980) and the Feltri chair (1987). After a long period in Paris, Pesce moved to New York where he lives and works today.
