Paustian launches 2017 collection of the Arctander Chair
In May 2017, Paustian launches two new versions of the Arctander Chair in beautiful petroleum colors from the new textile collection by Raf Simons for Kvadrat. The 2017 Kvadrat / Raf Simons textile collection was launched in New York in March 2017, and presented in Denmark by Kvadrat and Paustian in May.
As a part of this special Kvadrat/Raf Simons exhibition, Paustian presents the two new versions of the Arctander Chair, one in Argo and one in Vidar by Kvadrat/Raf Simons.
The Arctander Chair is now available in shearling, Kvadrat/Raf Simons Vidar, Sonar and Argo as well as Kvadrat Hallingdal. It is also available in other fabrics on special request. With its light expression, soft, padded form and rounded legs, the Arctander Chair has become a point of reference in the field of furniture design. It was produced in limited numbers in the late 1940s. Based on Philip Arctander’s principles of accessibility and durability, Paustian has put the chair back into production. This has been done in close collaboration with Philip Arctander’s granddaughter Sofie Arctander Paustian, her husband, architect Morten Paustian, who has produced working drawings based on the chair’s original design, and his parents Monika and Ole Paustian, founders of the Danish furniture and design house, Paustian.
